Our Approach

Fundamental to the approach of Biblical Life Coaching is my identity as an Israelite, and a desire to fulfill my role as a member of this nation – which is called a "kingdom of priests" in Exodus 19:6 – by helping and healing others. Within the nation of Israel, I align myself with a movement called Karaism. The movement is characterized by an approach towards interpreting the Tanach (Old Testament) which can be described as “originalist”. (Karaites are sometimes also called Scripturalists.) The goal of Karaism is to, first and foremost, understand the Tanach as an ancient Israelite would have understood it. This involves not only the study of the Tanach itself, but also of fields such as Near East History, Ancient Languages and Biblical Archaeology. According to Karaite beliefs, only once we understand how the ancient Israelites understood the scripture can we determine how to apply it in the modern age. Karaites reject all additions and emendations to the Tanach, such as those made by the Rabbis during the Second Temple period and later, which form the basis of what we know today as "Judaism".

Though I do respect Jesus (Yeshua) as an important teacher of the Torah during the Second Temple period, whose preaching of a simple and direct approach towards the Torah when so many had gone astray echoes the tenets of Karaism, I am not a “Believer”, and I have no association with any form of Christianity or Messianic Judaism. However, if you are a believing Christian or Messianic Jew, you are welcome with open arms to Biblical Life Coaching, with the hope that we can find much common ground on the one hand, and that we can learn from each other and respect each other’s differences on the other.
